Provisional data on apprenticeships in England has been released for the first quarter of the 2024/25 academic year covering the period August 2024 to October 2024, based on data returned by providers in December 2024.
Changes for 2024/25:
There is no longer a statutory target for public sector apprenticeships. Given the burden placed on public sector organisations to submit their employee and apprenticeship data to the Department, feedback from providers was sought to establish the relevance of these statistics going forwards. The feedback confirmed that there would be no detriment to end reporting on public sector apprenticeships after the November update and that data collection from 2024-25 onwards can stop. Therefore, the department will cease to publish further Public Sector Apprenticeship statistics.
The next update will be in March 2025 and will cover the period from August 2024 to January 2025. In accordance with previous announcements they are no longer producing the small interim monthly updates.
