Following the publication of the new Standards for proficiency for nursing associates by the Nursing and Midwifery Council on 10th October the apprenticeship trailblazer group has reconvened to develop the new apprenticeship standard and End Point Assessment. The group will be working intensely to have the draft standard and End Point Assessment ready for submission to the Institute for Apprenticeships on 9th January 2019. The Institute should advise the group in around 6 weeks whether the submissions have been approved.
Sue Crew, who chaired the original Trailblazer in 2017 is again the chair. Sue said ‘I’m delighted to have been asked to chair this trailblazer once again and am very grateful to everyone who has committed to be on the group, both those who are back again and especially the new members. We are going to be working to an incredibly tight timescale but with everyone’s support we will submit the new standard and EPA in January 2019’
