HEE facilitates an ESOL Practice Group of practitioners working in health and social care. It exists to share ways of working on the strategic importance of addressing ESOL learning. The Group is committed to sharing ESOL practices with the wider HEE Skills for Life Network.
What support is available?
This dedicated group of employers from across the country are currently sharing and developing a series of ideas and best practices in ESOL around Academic Writing, Conversation Clubs, and basic key skills builder software (bksb). For more insight into the group and what they are up to, take a look at this post on the LinkedIn Group page. It is written by Oliver Fletcher, Workforce Programme Lead at Somerset Integrated Care System. In it, Oliver discusses the essential role that Conversation Clubs play in developing ESOL skills in healthcare.
