The Care Certificate was launched in April 2015 and over the past six years, thousands of health and social care support workers have successfully met the standards.
Since the launch, standards have been updated where there have been changes to legislation e.g. the introduction of GDPR and changes to the Resuscitation guidelines. In 2021, however, it was agreed that a refresh of all the Care Certificate standards should be completed to ensure the standards continue to reflect current best practice across health and social care.
As partners in the development and maintenance of the Care Certificate, Skills for Health remains committed to ensuring that it is still applicable to both health and social care and reduce any burden on organisations delivering the standards now and in the future. The consultation process will be focused on consideration of the standards where there are proposed changes.
To give maximum opportunity for everyone to contribute, the consultation is available as an online survey here. The consultation opened on Wednesday 7th July 2021 and will close at 12pm on Monday, 16th August 2021.
