The Level 7 Arts Therapist (Degree) Apprenticeship Standard covering Art Therapy/Art Psychotherapy, Music Therapy and Dramatherapy professions was approved in 2019. This standard is linked to England only. You can access this standard here.
To date no Higher Education Institutions (HEI’s) are offering the apprenticeship. Health Education England (HEE) have convened an Arts Therapist apprenticeship task and finish group to work with employers and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to generate apprenticeship starts across England.
To understand employer demand and ensure confidence in the HEI market for this apprenticeship you are invited to take part in this demand scoping survey.
We welcome responses from all employers including those who may not yet employ arts therapists but who are interested in expanding their workforce skill mix to expand their choice of therapies offered to patients and service users through the potential of this innovative apprenticeship. Arts therapists work actively with a wide range of client groups across the age span including mental health, learning disabilities, children and young people. The apprenticeship is critical to widening diversity and inclusion in the arts therapies workforce for the future.
This survey will close on the 1st March 2022. The survey will take approximately 4 minutes to complete.
