Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs) are provider-based Level 4/5 qualifications, such as HNCs (Higher National Certificates) /HNDs (Higher National Diplomas) /Foundation Degrees that have been independently approved as meeting the skills and knowledge required for employer developed occupational standards.
HTQs are a high-quality alternative to apprenticeships and degrees and can provide a great route into work or further study. They are suitable for both young people starting their career and for adults looking to upskill or reskill and can be studied full or part-time with the same student finance options available as with degrees.
Health Sector HTQs will be available from this September, leading to occupations such as:
- Nursing Associate
- Health Play Specialist
- Assistant Practitioner
- Hearing Aid Dispenser
- Mammography Associate
- Healthcare Science Associate
A listing of which HTQs are available to study where, is available on gov.uk and some courses can be applied for directly through UCAS including many available through clearing.
