National Numeracy are a charity working with Health Education England to support the healthcare support workforce to gain the confidence and skills they need with numeracy to move on in their careers.
They have developed a CPD accredited course, “Becoming a Numeracy Champion” (“BaNC”) designed to support key stakeholders across the NHS to gain the skills they need to support numeracy in the workplace.
The programme focuses on changing mindsets and overcome anxieties around maths. It explores a unique psychological framework helping anxious learners move beyond their fear of maths and engage with learning using the National Numeracy Challenge (NNC) online resource, without the need for face-to-face maths teaching. The “BaNC” programme and the National Numeracy Champion resource are designed to provide that first step acting as a “readiness programme” and unlocking the potential of staff who might be “hiding their fears” within the workforce.
The programme is designed for Learning & Development staff, Apprenticeship Leads, Library or HR Managers, Practise Educators or Practise Managers. It will be run online over zoom for 3 hours over 2 consecutive weeks.
A selection of dates are available between January and March 23 – click here for further information
This programme is funded by Health Education England, there is no direct cost for NHS Employers.
