Bexley Training Hub held a celebration event on September 8th to mark the employment of its 60th apprentice since 2016 when Community Education Providers Network were created.
Championing apprenticeships locally in general practice, opening up career pathways within Primary Care, for the clinical and non-clinical workforce and attracting new talent into the workplace is central to the sustainability of primary care.
This includes four digital support technicians recruited after an identified skills gap across Primary Care Networks and their capacity to collect, analyse and utilise data to support the health inequalities agenda, informing and supporting service redesign. The apprenticeship program offers a real opportunity for primary care to meet the demands of shaping the future workforce and contributing towards improving patient outcomes.
