If an apprentice is care experienced, they could be entitled to extra support during their apprenticeship. Someone is care experienced if they’re currently in care or have been in care at any time in their life.
If they started their apprenticeship before 1 August 2023, they could be eligible for a £1,000 bursary. If they started their apprenticeship on or after 1 August 2023, they could be eligible for a £3,000 bursary.
