This week’s case study of the week is Tracy Hatch, who has dedicated nearly 20 years to Living Well Partnership and recently completed her Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship, graduating with a 2:1.
When asked what were the challenges faced during her apprenticeship journey, Tracy said:
“Before starting the apprenticeship, I had to complete my Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English at Eastleigh College. As a mature student at 48, I faced challenges like writing assignments and adapting to new IT systems. Placements were also challenging, my mature age was sometimes met with surprise and an expectation that I had more experience than other younger student nurses.”

The broad purpose of the occupation is to play a vital role in providing, leading, coordinating and evaluating care that is compassionate, evidence based, and person centred. They are accountable for their own actions and those who they delegate to and must be able to work autonomously, or as an equal partner with a range of other professionals. They provide nursing care for people across the whole lifespan who could have complex and concurrent mental, physical, cognitive and behavioural care needs and for people at the end of their life.
