Skills for Health are working with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) to help shape the future of the physiotherapy profession. They have developed a survey which aims to help understand how physiotherapy degree apprenticeships are being implemented and experienced.
With the establishment of physiotherapy degree apprenticeships as a recognised way of training, there is now an opportunity to understand more to ensure delivery of high-quality education. Exploring the experiences and impact of this training offer for apprentices, employers, providers and patient care within England, will allow for member interventions and resources to be designed to support sustainability of this approach to pre-registration training.
Find out more and take part in the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Apprenticeships Survey here. The survey should take around 15 minutes to complete. The closing date is 5th January 2025.
The survey is for those who are currently undertaking a degree apprenticeship training course (in any year of study) and those who have trained as a physiotherapist via the apprenticeship route, as well as those who support apprentices in the workplace, such as mentors, line managers, practice learning facilitators or apprenticeship leads. We are capturing the views of universities separately.
Interviews:
Apprentice Interview – This interview builds on the apprenticeship survey and seeks to understand the delivery, experience and impact of physiotherapy degree apprenticeships, in order to understand how they are being implemented and experienced.
Apprentice Employer Interview – This will help to identify examples of good practice and also areas that could be further developed, to inform recommendations that will support the sustainability and quality of the degree apprenticeship model.
