The new GDC (General Dental Council) safe practitioner standards, Safe Practitioner Standards for the dental team, were recently introduced. As GDC regulated occupations, the following apprenticeship standards must also be reviewed to ensure the apprenticeships continue to provide a route to registration.
- Level 3 Dental Nurse
- Level 4 Orthodontic Therapist
- Level 5 Clinical Dental Technician
- Level 5 Dental Technician
To give maximum opportunity for everyone to contribute, these consultations are available as online surveys here – click on the relevant link above to fill out each survey. This consultation opened on Wednesday, 3rd April and will close at 12pm on Wednesday, 24th April 2024.
Your feedback will be reviewed following the closing date and the Trailblazer will consider where amendments should be made to the draft standard. The Standard will then be submitted to the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) to seek approval.
