The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and the Department for Education (DfE) have published a new policy for apprenticeship funding in England which will take effect from August 2018. The new policy includes changes to:
- Funding Band Structure, increasing it to 30 funding bands – all existing approved standards will be placed into a band within the new structure that has the same upper limit as under the 15 funding band structure
- Transitional payments to providers training 16 to 18 year olds
- Additional payments for apprentices who require learning support
- Support for care leavers
Under the new 30 funding band structure, the Institute for Apprenticeships is reviewing the funding bands for 31 standards and making recommendations to the Department for Education. Click here to see a full list of the standards involved in the review.
