The Our Health Heroes awards aim to recognise and celebrate the thousands of support staff, apprentices and dedicated workers who are the backbone of our healthcare system.
It shines a spotlight on the diverse healthcare workforce that stands beside NHS doctors and nurses at the forefront of care. From porters and cleaners to receptionists, gardeners, and security guards, these often overlooked roles represent around 40% of the NHS’s one million-strong workforce.
The 15 shortlisted finalists and their inspiring stories have been announced below. Finalists in each of the individual award categories will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze in order of the amount of votes they receive from the general public.
