Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education – creating green apprenticeships

4 November, 2021

Sustainability is top of the agenda for the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE). As part of it’s continuing importance, IfATE have convened the Green Apprenticeships Advisory Panel (GAAP) in order to future-proof apprenticeship standards.

“To help us understand the needs and priorities, we have convened a green apprenticeships advisory panel (GAAP) to advise where existing apprenticeships map to new green jobs, could be made greener or where new apprenticeships could be created to address new and emerging skills gaps in the green economy”

The Green Apprenticeships Advisory Panel (GAAP) will be working with the various Trailblazer Groups in the coming months to ensure that sustainability is considered as part of the development of each standard. A Sustainability Framework has been published for use, this is a guide for trailblazer groups and route panels.

In addition IfATE has published it’s Strategic Plan 2021 – 2024, you can access further details here.
