The Senior Healthcare Support Worker Trailblazer Group is delighted to announce that the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education has approved new funding. The previous funding band was a maximum of £5000 but has now increased to funding band 12, which is a maximum of £9000.
Nikki Morgan, Chair of the Senior HCSW Trailblazer, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust had the below to say about the apprenticeship:
“The Senior Healthcare Support Worker Level 3 is essential in creating a talent pipeline progression route for tomorrow as part of the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan.
I am delighted that the funding band for the ‘Senior Healthcare Support Worker Level 3’ apprenticeship, has been increased to band 12 – maximum of £9000.
The previous funding band – maximum of £5000, was proving challenging for the delivery of quality training, and some providers had ceased to offer the apprenticeship. The increased funding band now reflects the full cost of delivering this apprenticeship and will hopefully secure the longevity of this apprenticeship and see more providers/ EPAOs enter the market’.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this review work. I am sure you will agree that this is a really welcome outcome”
