The King’s Trust (formerly The Prince’s Trust) is working in partnership with NHS England to support, recruit and train young people aged 16 to 30 who are interested in pursuing a career in health and care. With free training courses, mentoring, and funding to help them find a job in healthcare.
Since 2019, they’ve supported and recruited thousands of 16 to 30-year-olds into the health and social care sector. They’ve built partnerships with hundreds of hospitals, care homes, and health organisations in the UK who specifically hire new healthcare workers such as care assistants, admin assistants, emergency call handlers, and more.
There are more roles in health and social care than just doctors and nurses. There are over 350 jobs available in the NHS alone, including clinical and non-clinical roles, and many require no qualifications or prior experience. The King’s Trust will support individuals to find the right job for them, or enrol in a course to develop their skills. Once someone gets their foot in the door, both the healthcare and social care sectors can take them anywhere. There’s great career progression from every job level and every role makes a difference to people’s lives. Individuals will find stability –health and social care workers are always needed – and they can depend on that regardless of what is happening elsewhere.
