Apprenticeship Standard for Midwife – Consultation open

9 December, 2019

The Midwife Trailblazer group is pleased to announce that it has opened a consultation on a draft Apprenticeship Standard for Midwife.

An apprenticeship standard for midwives already exists and is in the process of being piloted by a range of employers in partnership with three universities in England with apprentices due to start early next year.

Now we are inviting you to consult on a new version of the apprenticeship standard which has been developed by the trailblazer group to reflect the recently published Nursing and Midwifery Council 2019 Future Midwife Standards.

The consultation opened on Monday 09th December and will close at 12pm, Wednesday 15th January 2020. Click here to take part.

Your feedback will be reviewed following the closing date and the Trailblazer will consider where amendments should be made to the draft Standard. The Standard will then be submitted to the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education to seek approval prior to drafting the apprenticeship end point assessment plan.
