Are you a HEI currently providing the Assistant Practitioner apprenticeship?

6 January, 2022

The Trailblazer is seeking your help to ensure that the revised apprenticeship standard attracts the best possible funding band.

Revisions made to the standard and end-point assessment plan means that the funding band for this apprenticeship is now being reviewed by the funding body. The decision on how much funding the revised apprenticeship will be allocated will be based on evidence of costs provided by HEIs (Higher Education Institution). It is vital that the funding body bases its decision on up-to-date and comprehensive information. The Trailblazer is therefore urgently seeking information on costs from HEIs that are delivering, or preparing to deliver the Assistant Practitioner apprenticeship.

During 2021, the Trailblazer revised the apprenticeship standard, creating an Integrated Foundation Degree Apprenticeship for Assistant Practitioner. This means that the end-point assessment is integrated into the Foundation Degree and the HEI becomes the provider and end-point assessment organisation. Only HEIs will be able to offer the Integrated Foundation Degree Apprenticeship for Assistant Practitioner.

If your HEI is able to provide evidence of costs to inform the new funding band, please email Healthcare.Trailblazer@skillsforhealth.org.uk no later than Thursday 27th January 2022.
