Further to the submission of a proposal to the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education to develop an apprenticeship standard for Clinical Academic Professional we are delighted to announce that the proposal has been approved.
An employer led Trailblazer group will now take forward the drafting of the apprenticeship standard and accompanying end-point assessment plan.
Here is a quote from the Trailblazer Chair, Professor Joanne Cooper:
“As Chair of the Clinical Academic Professional Trailblazer group, I am delighted that the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education have agreed the occupation proposal and confirmed support for the ongoing development of this unique and critical role to the NHS workforce. In collaboration with Skills for Health and the Institute, we will be working closely together over the forthcoming months to clarify the key knowledge, skills and behaviours of the first level 8 apprenticeship route, ensuring that the vital contribution of clinical academics is maximised to improve the lives of patients and the delivery of care for the future. I would like to welcome other organisations and professional groups to join us on this journey”.
