The second meeting of the Clinical Coder Trailblazer group took place in Birmingham on 27th September. The meeting was chaired by Katie Squire of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The group includes representatives from a wide range of employers and stakeholders, and in attendance at the meeting were practitioners and experts from Warrington & Halton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, The Northern Care Alliance, Spire Healthcare, NHS Digital, University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and North Bristol NHS Trust.
The group have made good progress in developing the draft Apprenticeship Standard for the Clinical Coder role. The group also discussed the forthcoming consultation survey, the end-point assessment and implementation.
