Connecting to other employers – Skills for Life Strategic Masterclass

3 October, 2019

Wednesday 6th November, 10am-3pm, London

VENUE CONFIRMED – Ambassadors Bloomsbury Hotel, 12 Upper Woburn Place, Central London, WC1H 0HX

What is it?

A one-day workshop for those who want to take a strategic approach to basic skills weaknesses in their health-related workplace. Weaknesses in Maths, English, ICT and ESOL create a barrier into work and through careers, for those on apprenticeships up to senior managers. Come and learn what is being done in other workplaces to tackle these issues, what resources are available to you and network with sector colleagues to build a network of support.

Who is it aimed at?

This is for employees who are interested in influencing their workplace to take a departmental or organizational approach to these issues. We want you to leave the day with ideas, inspiration and contacts that will help you tackle this issue strategically.

How do I sign up?

This event is being organized collaboratively between Health Education England, UNISON, Unite, RCN, RCM, CSP and NHS Employers. To secure a place please email talentforcare@hee.nhs.uk, making sure you answer the questions below in your response. Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. We anticipate a high level of interest and will be operating a waiting list for those who are unable to secure a place initially.

What do we need to know from you?

We think we can make the day most useful and productive for you by introducing you to colleagues in similar situations. To do this, we’d welcome knowing the following information:

  1. Which geographical region you work in
  2. How much experience you have of tackling this issue strategically: No experience, Some experience, A significant amount of experience
  3. Please also let us know any dietary requirements and/or access needs

Please forward this news item or this flyer to anyone you think may be interested.
