The consultation on the Apprenticeship Standard for Optometrist has been extended until the 10th January 2020.
A spokesperson for the Institute said:
“We are listening and would like to hear from as many people as possible, which is why the consultation has been extended by the employers who are developing the apprenticeship with our support.
No decision has been made yet and the Institute only signs apprenticeship standards off if we are confident that apprentices will get the high-quality training they need to do their job. The Institute is committed to high quality apprenticeships, backed by large and small employers. In many industries degree apprenticeships provide a welcome extra training route, allowing people from different backgrounds to join and add value.”
