Specialist Clinical Practitioner – Standard and EPA submitted

13 January, 2021

The Specialist Clinical Practitioner Trailblazer group is pleased to announce that the Apprenticeship Standard, End Point Assessment Plan and rationale supporting a request to amend the occupation title from Specialist Clinical Practitioner to Enhanced Clinical Practitioner was submitted to the Institute for Apprenticeships on 13th January 2021.

The submission follows an on-line consultation period on the draft standard during August and September which resulted in the proposal to amend the title of the occupation. The trailblazer group agreed that this change will align the standard to the Health Education Enhanced Practice report which describes a level of practice, rather than a “specialism” which can apply to a wide range of levels.

The Institute will hold a short consultation on the Standard and Assessment Plan. When available, the survey can be found here.

Further communications will follow once the Standard and End Point Assessment Plan have been approved for delivery.
