National Framework for Nursing Associate, Nursing, and Midwifery apprenticeship provision – Launched

15 September, 2020

Health Education England, and Salisbury NHSFT have launched the new National Framework for Nursing Associate, Nursing, and Midwifery apprenticeship provision.

This is aimed at supporting the increased number of apprentices supported by government, and the framework simplifies procurement and selection of providers for employing organisations. Employers can either direct award, or run mini-competitions supported by both Salisbury and HEE’s Regional Apprenticeship Relationship Managers – either as individual employers or as collaborations across STPs or wider regions. With 50 providers listed, the Framework will also enable employers to co-create programmes with their providers to reflect the true employer-led nature of apprenticeships, and focus on innovation in delivery methods and locations.

The framework includes Nursing Associate, Registered Nurse (multiple pathways), Midwife, District Nurse and Specialist Community & Public Health Nurse standards, with coverage across all of England.

For further information, employers should contact either their HEE Relationship manager, or email simon.dennis@nhs.net for the Employer Guide and provider offer details.
